About
Qualifications Required Education and/or Experience
The candidate must have a master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Science, or a related discipline.
The candidate must have 4+ years of experience as a data engineer, software developer, database administrator, or similar role.
The candidate must have 2+ years of experience leading a team of data engineers.
Having a Ph.D. in Computer Science, Information Science, or a related discipline is a plus.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
Lead a team of data engineers.
Collect and analyze raw data from various sources, including social media platforms.
Organize and maintain datasets; improve data quality and process efficiency.
Design and manage data ETL pipelines, processing millions of data points daily using Kafka and MongoDB across Kubernetes clusters.
Design and deploy scalable microservices in Python and Golang, ensuring sub‑second response times.
Migrate legacy databases to MongoDB and integrate Elasticsearch for efficient search.
Set up and manage infrastructure for data ingestion, processing, and storage.
Evaluate model needs, interpret data trends, and conduct complex analysis.
Transform and cleanse data, combining sources and enhancing quality.
Develop analytical tools and collaborate with COSMOS teams on projects.
Manage services and operational infrastructure for system reliability.
Create CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins and GitLab CI; integrate Prometheus, Grafana, and Kibana for monitoring and visualization.
Develop front‑end components (HTML/CSS, JavaScript, Node.js).
Train and deploy machine learning models on datasets.
Enhance fault tolerance with alert mechanisms.
Implement frameworks such as Spring Boot and React.
Perform other related tasks as needed.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Expert proficiency with data models, pipelines, ETL processes, and data stores.
Expert proficiency with programming languages (Java, Python).
Expert proficiency with SQL database design and data integration platforms.
Strong analytical and data security skills.
Expert in collecting raw data from social media platforms.
Expert in CI/CD pipelines and front‑end development.
Expert in training and deploying machine learning models.
Ability to lead a large team of data engineers.
Expert in Kafka, MongoDB, Kubernetes, microservices, Docker, FlaskAPI, GraphQL.
Expert in Elasticsearch, Grafana, Prometheus, Kibana.
Expert in data modeling concepts and RESTful APIs.
Expert in Hadoop, Spark, TensorFlow, Hive, and related algorithms.
Expert in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and data warehousing solutions (Snowflake, Red Shift, BigQuery, Synapse).
Excellent technical communication skills.
