About

Archer is an aerospace company based in San Jose, California building an all-electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft with a mission to advance the benefits of sustainable air mobility. We are designing, manufacturing, and operating an all-electric aircraft that can carry four passengers while producing minimal noise. Our sights are set high and our problems are hard, and we believe that diversity in the workplace is what makes us smarter, drives better insights, and will ultimately lift us all to success. We are dedicated to cultivating an equitable and inclusive environment that embraces our differences, and supports and celebrates all of our team members. What You’ll Do As a Fullstack Engineer, you will develop, maintain, and scale both the user-facing web applications and the core backend APIs that power our cutting‑edge products. You will bridge the gap between our real-time data pipelines and intuitive user interfaces, ensuring a seamless experience for our users. Develop and maintain responsive front‑end applications and the robust backend APIs that support them. Implement real‑time data streaming features to visualize dynamic data on maps and dashboards. Collaborate cross‑functionally with Backend, Data Science, and DevOps teams to integrate AI models into the user experience. Participate in the full development lifecycle— from coding and code reviews to deployment and feature monitoring. Write clean, maintainable, well‑documented, and thoroughly tested code across the entire stack. Monitor application performance, troubleshoot bugs, and assist in root cause analysis for production issues. What You Need BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field (or equivalent practical experience). 2–4 years of professional software engineering experience across the full stack. Solid proficiency in modern front‑end frameworks (e.g., React, Vue, TypeScript) and back‑end languages (e.g., Python, Node.js, Rust, Go). Experience handling real‑time data on the front‑end (e.g., WebSockets, SSE) and managing application state. Good understanding of API design (REST/GraphQL), relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL), and caching layers (e.g., Redis). Familiarity with containerization (Docker) and modern development workflows (Git). Able to leverage AI coding assistants to increase velocity while fully understanding and taking ownership of all code you commit. Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset to thrive in a fast‑paced team environment. Bonus Qualifications Experience with web‑based mapping and visualization libraries (e.g., Mapbox, MapLibre). Experience with real‑time audio consumption workflows, including Opus decoding, browser audio rendering APIs, and managing multi‑channel live audio streams via LiveKit/WebRTC. Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP) and basic Kubernetes concepts. Exposure to event‑driven architectures or streaming systems. A deep interest or background in aerospace, aviation, or autonomous systems. Base pay for this position is between $120,000 and $150,000. Actual compensation will be determined by factors such as job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience. Equal Opportunity Employer Archer is proud to be an Equal Opportunity employer committed to diversity and inclusivity in the workplace.
