SALES MANAGER – Southeast (NC, SC, GA, TN, KY) Territory: Southeast (NC, SC, GA, TN, KY) Location: Concord, NC. Priority is for NC residents or willing to relocate. Weekly accommodation provided Schedule: Full time, Hybrid schedule – 2 days in the office in Concord, 3 days remote. Our client, an Italian manufacturer specializing in premium ingredients for the pastry, gelato, bakery and food industries, is looking for a Sales Manager. The person will be responsible for managing all sales-related activities, from lead generation to active client maintenance within the assigned territory. Other duties include but are not limited to developing and implementing a Business and Marketing Plan which will meet both personal and business goals of expanding customer base in the marketing area, working within the sales and support teams for the achievement of customer satisfaction, revenue generation, and long-term account goals in line with company vision and values. There are no supervisory duties related to this position. Duties and Responsibilities Manage and grow customer accounts within the assigned territory. Develop new business through prospecting, networking, cold calling, referrals, and trade shows. Conduct customer visits, product presentations, and technical sales demonstrations. Build and execute territory business plans to achieve and exceed sales targets. Monitor market trends, competitors, and customer needs to identify growth opportunities. Prepare quotes, proposals, and sales documentation while maintaining accurate CRM records. Partner with Marketing and internal teams to support customer initiatives, trade shows, and product sampling. Build long-term relationships with customers, distributors, and industry partners while ensuring high customer satisfaction. Provide post-sale support and identify opportunities for account growth. Adhere to company policies, values, and support additional business needs as required. Required Skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word) and CRM platforms (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot, Zoho). Strong organizational, analytical, and time management skills with the ability to work independently and prioritize multiple tasks. Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with a customer-focused approach. Proven ability to develop new business, build trust, solve problems, and consistently meet or exceed sales targets. High level of integrity, professionalism, and collaboration in a fast-paced environment. Previous experience working directly for a food distributor as well as a background working with pastries and frozen desserts is preferred. Required Education and Certification 1-2 years of direct sales experience to FOOD SERVICE or HOSPITALITY INDUSTRY. We want someone early in their career with strong fundamentals, a great attitude, and clear growth potential. A 4-year degree in pastry, culinary field, hospitality management, business, food science, or a related discipline is required. Or any equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job as outlined above. Interpersonal communication skills are a must. A strong commitment to team culture, positive attitude, an understanding of customer requirements and market dynamics are a must. Working Conditions Extensive travel in the assigned territory is required, about 60%. What’s offered ABS: base salary + bonus on KPI's (no commissions) of about $30k/year.
