Full Time | 37.5 hours per week
We’re looking for an experienced and motivated Pharmacy Manager to lead our pharmacy service at Berkshire Independent Hospital, one of Berkshire’s leading private hospitals.
This is an exciting time to join us. Following the opening of our brand-new purpose-built pharmacy within the last year , we’re looking for a leader who wants to shape the future of the service, drive innovation and build on the excellent care we already provide.
This is far more than a traditional pharmacy management role. We’re looking for someone who enjoys building relationships, leading teams and driving improvements that make a real difference to patient care. You’ll work closely with our multidisciplinary teams, senior clinical leaders and consultants, helping to shape the future of medicines management across the hospital.

With 43 private en-suite patient rooms, modern facilities and investment in the latest technology, we provide a wide range of elective surgical and outpatient services across multiple specialties.

The role
As Pharmacy Manager, you’ll provide both operational and clinical leadership for the pharmacy department, ensuring safe, effective and patient-centred medicines management across the hospital.
Working closely with the wider hospital leadership team, you’ll play a key role in developing pharmacy services, leading quality improvement initiatives and supporting medicines optimisation across the organisation.
Your responsibilities will include:
Providing operational and professional leadership for the pharmacy department.
Leading, developing and supporting the pharmacy team to deliver outstanding patient care.
Driving quality improvement and medicines optimisation initiatives.
Working collaboratively with consultants, nurses and multidisciplinary colleagues.
Providing expert clinical advice and support across the hospital.
Delivering dispensing services for both inpatients and outpatients.
Participating in ward-based clinical pharmacy services and direct patient care.
Supporting the hospital’s governance, quality and outcomes framework.
Helping shape the future direction of pharmacy services within the hospital.

Essential requirements
MPharm, BPharm or BSc (Pharm), or equivalent EEC qualification.
Current registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
Post-registration hospital pharmacy experience.
Desirable requirements
Postgraduate Clinical Diploma (or equivalent).
Previous line management or team leadership experience.
Independent Prescriber qualification
