This is a non-exempt position, general direction, is responsible for analyzing, installing, administering, maintaining and troubleshooting office equipment copiers and printers. Participates in capacity planning, support the creation and the maintenance of office equipment disaster recovery plans and monitor all office equipment performance activities. Screens the office equipment for attempted intrusions as well as designs and implements appropriate office equipment security measures and procedures. Responsible for designing and implementing advanced cabling plant infrastructure to support office equipment systems. Provides Tier I and II support for office equipment issues that come through the customer service center. Exercises no direct supervision. Education and Training:
High School Diploma and 3 to 6 months experience Experience in Telecommunication, Networks, Computer Science, or IT related fields, managing network projects and experience in working with teams, developing work plans. Must possess and maintain a valid state driver's license and be eligible for vehicle insurances. Must successfully clear Criminal Background Checks and maintain throughout duration of employment.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of quality principles and tools, especially root cause analysis and problem solving. Skill in effectively planning, organizing, controlling and supervising the work of subordinates. Skill in establishing and communicating clear expectations regarding work performance for both the individual and/or team. Skill in a variety of communication methods to present complex issues to diverse audiences. Skill in creating an environment for improving customer satisfaction and promotes an atmosphere that establishes customer satisfaction as a key value in the organization. Skill in utilizing a personal computer and utilizing associated software programs. Knowledge of system environments. Train with assigned personnel with copier repairs and troubleshooting. Study and Train on newer equipment while assisting Senior Technicians with repairs. Take notes of day to day activities while training to become a printer / copier technician. Learn troubleshooting procedures for repairing the office equipment. Learn to keep a parts inventory necessary for repairing the office equipment. Study and Learn to conduct yourself professionally with good customer relations. Assist with refurbishing used equipment into new operational condition. Monitor your day to day services and responses from customers on your performance and work to build a high level of service satisfaction. Maintain tools and test equipment. Work closely with Manager and Accountants in proper billing and invoicing for services performed. Assist with Upgrades of software and firmware on the copier equipment. Prepare for Entry Level Equipment Training and testing to become warranty certified. Consult with Supervisor and Technical Support personnel with solving technical issues. Study all copier prerequisites online needed to qualify for Copier Warranty training. Carry appropriate tools needed to assist with servicing the copiers that you are training on for future certifications. Novice knowledge of various switches and routers for use in Private and carrier-based optical WAN and MAN networks across multiple data centers utilizing MPLS and advanced routing protocols including BGP, OSPF, and EIGRP. Novice knowledge of commercial enterprise-level tools and products to provide core network services including: firewalls, IPS/IDS, DNS, DHCP, web security, email security, VPN, and NAC. Novice knowledge of VOIP telephony products. Advanced knowledge of enterprise system monitoring and management tools such as SolarWinds Orion Suite, etc. Novice knowledge of Coaxial, fiber, and copper structured cabling for core, aggregation, distribution, and access layer networks. Novice knowledge of network configuration management. Knowledge of basic to moderately complex hardware and software products. Knowledge of Internet Protocols & Networking understanding Knowledge of computer systems scheduling and report distribution. Knowledge of basic math skills. Skill in problem solving/troubleshooting. Knowledge of basic hardware and software products. Novice knowledge of Microsoft back office, messaging, and core infrastructure Novice knowledge of Active-Synch messaging Novice knowledge of message and file archiving Novice knowledge of server operating systems Novice knowledge of patch management techniques Novice knowledge of X86 Windows and X86 Mac OS/X Novice knowledge of server virtualization technologies including VMWare ESX Novice knowledge of Active Directory, Open Directory, and/or LDAP Novice knowledge of Fiber Channel SAN and NAS storage fundamentals Novice knowledge of TCP/IP Networking Novice knowledge of least-privileged security model Novice knowledge of scripting techniques Novice knowledge of ITIL Release Management and Change Management Novice knowledge of requirements analysis and project management techniques Skills in technical documentation creation including but not limited to SLA's, SOP's, and project plans. Skills in the use of computers, MS office 2003/2007/2010, and associated software within the MS-Windows 7 and XP environment. Knowledge of current organizational hardware and software capabilities. Ability to learn and apply all Tribal and Division processes, policies and procedures. Ability to use mobile and/or PC technology, computer operating systems, network printer configuration and mobile device configuration in Windows and Mac. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with Tribal staff and the general public. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing. Type 40 wpm and pass a standardized grammar test Physical requirements include occasional lifting/carrying of 50 pounds; visual acuity, speech and hearing; hand and eye coordination and manual dexterity necessary to operate a computer keyboard and basic office equipment. Subject to sitting, standing, reaching, walking, twisting, and kneeling to perform the essential functions. Working conditions are primarily inside an office environment.
