Financial Crimes Compliance Quality Assurance Programme Head – London MUFG, one of the world’s most respected financial groups with a rich heritage spanning over 350 years, is seeking a Financial Crimes Compliance Quality Assurance Programme Head to join their Global Financial Crimes Division in London. This pivotal role offers you the opportunity to shape and drive the global FCC QA methodology, ensuring consistency and excellence across multiple regions and disciplines including Anti‑Bribery and Corruption (ABC), Anti‑Money Laundering (AML), Know Your Customer (KYC), and Sanctions. Responsibilities
Play a central role in developing, maintaining, and implementing global minimum standards for FCC QA across all regions, ensuring robust compliance and risk management frameworks are embedded throughout the organisation.
Collaborate closely with senior leaders and subject matter experts globally, providing technical advisory and oversight while promoting standardisation and best practices in quality assurance.

Oversee the delivery of the FCC QA programme remit within agreed timelines and to required standards, ensuring outputs are consistently high-quality, complete, accurate, and aligned with global expectations.
Develop, maintain, and secure approval for global minimum standards for FCC QA as well as relevant appendices to the Global FCC QA Methodology, driving harmonisation across all business units.
Communicate effectively with regional GFCD QA teams and global stakeholders to ensure seamless implementation and embedding of approved methodologies and standards.
Maintain comprehensive training materials and records related to FCC QA methodologies, delivering guidance sessions to ensure understanding and compliance across teams.
Prepare detailed summaries, reports, governance papers, and management information for key meetings while reviewing records for accuracy and completeness.
Provide timely updates on risks, issues, programme developments, and elevate material concerns to senior leadership as appropriate.
Execute oversight activities according to annual plans while responding flexibly to ad hoc requests from governance forums or leadership.
Contribute actively to regional working groups by offering constructive challenge and subject matter expertise to enhance overall programme effectiveness.
Support capability development by mentoring junior colleagues, fostering a collaborative team culture that upholds high standards of conduct and performance.
Identify opportunities for process improvement within the QA operating model by strengthening internal controls and enhancing efficiency through shared best practices.
Qualifications
To excel as Financial Crimes Compliance Quality Assurance Programme Head at MUFG you will bring deep expertise gained from significant experience in financial services compliance roles—preferably within large-scale international organisations where you have driven meaningful change or enhanced critical programmes through rigorous evaluation.
Advanced understanding of quality assurance principles will enable you to develop robust methodologies that stand up to scrutiny from both internal stakeholders and external regulators.
Excellent interpersonal skills—able to communicate complex ideas clearly whether preparing governance materials or delivering training sessions—and demonstrate empathy when collaborating with colleagues across different cultures or time zones.
Proven ability to build positive relationships quickly will be essential as you interact regularly with senior leaders/subject matter experts globally.
Adaptability is key: you thrive amid shifting priorities/deadlines without losing sight of long‑term objectives.

Significant experience in financial services compliance roles within large international organisations—ideally those focused on driving change or enhancing critical programmes through evaluation or transformation initiatives.
Proven track record leading teams or projects directly involved with FCC QA functions or controls oversight within banking or financial crime environments.
Advanced understanding of quality assurance concepts such as sampling strategies, stratification methods, testing approaches (including MI reporting), monitoring techniques, sources of assurance, governance structures (accountability/decision‑making), and regulatory frameworks relevant to banking compliance.
Thorough knowledge of effective financial crimes risk management frameworks—including practical application of AML/KYC/Sanctions regulations—and ability to interpret evolving industry trends or best practices.
Demonstrated proficiency using Microsoft Excel/Word/365 applications for data analysis/reporting purposes alongside strong written/oral communication skills suitable for preparing governance materials or delivering training sessions.
Experience interacting with senior leaders or subject matter experts in financial crime programmes—providing technical advice/guidance on complex issues while building positive relationships quickly through client service orientation.
Ability to adapt rapidly to changing priorities/deadlines within collaborative environments—exhibiting resilience/flexibility/optimism even under pressure while striving for continuous improvement at every stage.
Preferred: Experience designing/evaluating/testing/auditing financial crime compliance controls; interfacing with banking regulators/enforcement staff; holding relevant certifications such as CQP MCQI/CIA/CMIIA/ICA Diploma in AML/CAMS; degree in finance/accounting/business or equivalent work experience.
