About

We are looking for a committed, caring and enthusiastic Early Years Educator to join our Early Intervention team working with autistic children at the Shine Centre in Carrigaline, Co Cork.

Initially this position is for Maternity Leave cover for one year comprising of a working week of 32 hours with 10 weeks paid leave per annum based on the Department of Education's Group Tuition Scheme calendar.
Applicants will work within a classroom team to support pre-school autistic children.
Start Date: 30th August, 2026.
Responsibilities Include: Working with children in both 1:1 settings and group settings with a focus on the child's IEP and individual developmental goals.
Supporting the class tutor in the management, planning and running of the class.
Working as part of the classroom team to provide a safe, caring and inclusive learning environment for all students..
Encouraging and supporting the continuous development of each child's independence skills in the classroom.
Preparing and supporting group activities including play, socialisation, art and crafts etc.
Working closely with the other tutors in the classroom to ensure open and effective communication.
Implementing programmes and recommendations set out by our Occupational Therapist and Speech & Language Therapist for each student.
Job Requirements: Applicants should be Teaching Council registered or be eligible to apply for Teaching Council membership by holding a level 8 qualification in Montessori Education or Early Childhood Studies or equivalent childcare qualification.

- Early Childhood qualification or a Level 6 Early Years
- Special Needs Assistant qualification with a minimum of 3 years experience working with children with additional needs in an educational setting.
Additional Information: 32 hours per week.
