*Position Summary*
The Plastics Engineering Project Manager is responsible for coordinating the successful launch of custom injection molded plastic products from project award through production launch and ongoing lifecycle support.Serving as the primary customer and project contact, this role manages schedules, communication, deliverables, and cross-functional activities to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and in accordance with customer expectations.Working closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, Tooling, Quality, Planning, Customer Service, Purchasing, and Supply Chain, the Project Manager ensures all technical and operational activities supporting product commercialization are properly planned, coordinated, and executed. This position relies on collaboration with internal engineering subject matter experts for detailed engineering, tooling, validation, and manufacturing activities while maintaining overall accountability for project execution and customer communication.
*Key Responsibilities*
· Lead assigned customer projects from award through production launch and ongoing product lifecycle support.
· Serve as the primary customer contact, providing regular communication regarding project status, schedules, risks, and key milestones.
· Develop and maintain project schedules, action plans, and timelines to ensure successful execution.
· Coordinate Design for Manufacturability (DFM) reviews with Engineering to support customer product development and manufacturing readiness.
· Coordinate tooling activities, including mold design reviews, fabrication schedules, mold sampling, qualification, and production readiness.
· Partner with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Planning, Customer Service, Purchasing, and Supply Chain to ensure all project deliverables are completed on schedule.
· Coordinate validation activities, including IQ/OQ/PQ, First Article Inspection (FAI), PPAP, and customer approvals, ensuring required documentation is completed prior to production release.
· Manage engineering changes, customer design revisions, and project scope changes throughout the product lifecycle.
· Monitor project budgets, schedules, tooling costs, and key milestones while identifying risks and coordinating mitigation plans.
· Support customer quotations by coordinating technical input from Engineering and Manufacturing.
· Facilitate cross-functional project meetings and drive action items to completion.
· Build strong customer relationships through proactive communication, responsiveness, and exceptional project execution.
· Identify opportunities to improve project execution, communication, and customer satisfaction.
*Required Qualifications*
· Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Business, Project Management, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
· Five or more years of project management, engineering coordination, manufacturing engineering, technical account management, or new product development experience within a manufacturing environment.
· Experience coordinating cross-functional projects from customer award through production launch.
· Experience working within an injection molding, plastics manufacturing, or custom manufacturing environment.
· Strong organizational, communication, and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
· Proven ability to build collaborative relationships and influence cross-functional teams without direct authority.
*Preferred Qualifications*
· Experience supporting custom injection molded products or plastics manufacturing.
· Familiarity with Design for Manufacturability (DFM), mold development, tooling, validation, and production launch processes.
· Medical device or other regulated manufacturing experience.
· Experience with ISO 13485 quality systems.
· Familiarity with IQ/OQ/PQ validation, PPAP, and First Article Inspection.
· ERP experience, preferably IQMS or DELMIAWorks.
· Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or Project Management certification.

Pay: $90,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
