Summary Lidl US is searching for the next Desktop Support Specialist (Internal: IT Support Specialist) to join our team! The IT Support Specialist works as a member of the IT Service Desk team, which is part of the IT Systems department, supporting the business by providing IT services to US and International users. The role facilitates high quality IT services that support and enhance the business wherever the systems are used.
What You’ll Do Essential Functions
Oversees and manages assigned project and/or departments data, ensuring it meets predetermined contractual or policy requirements
Conduct data entry and data management for various department projects
Assist with the development of training materials such as manuals, handbooks, presentations, diagrams, workflows, and project plans
Provide qualified 1st and 2nd level support for users in the organization in order to swiftly rectify incidents and problems of IT systems
Record incidents in the support tool for documentation and traceability purposes
Provide support to US and International users in technical matters and answer queries involving the use of the available IT equipment
Assign system access rights and install software/hardware in accordance with the relevant local and global procedures
Monitor IT systems
Resolve and facilitate the resolution of incidents and problems and where required liaise with the appropriate national or international specialists
Ensure a stable and cost-efficient operation of specific IT systems used throughout the organization
Adhere to service levels agreements with end users
Provide IT services as part of the IT Service Desk team within defined shift service hours including on‑call duties outside regular business hours
Ensure high standards of quality, stability and consistency of the IT system environment according to the Principles of Administration and international guidelines
Responsible for the setup, take down and re‑location of all PC systems and other IT equipment
Perform other duties as assigned
What You’ll Need Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software
Ability to work independently
Advanced troubleshooting skills in a multi‑user high‑pressure environment
Understanding of networking concepts such as DNS, DHCP, Email, HTTP, SSL, OSI Model, and TCP/IP protocols and applications
Proven skills in PC repair, troubleshooting, deployment, and liquidation
Required Education, Certifications/ Licenses, Related Experience
Bachelor’s degree
1-3 years of experience in a related field
In lieu of degree, 5+ years of experience in related field will meet the education and related experience requirements listed above
Physical Job Requirements
Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
