The General Manager leads all aspects of restaurant operations, ensuring exceptional guest experiences, strong financial performance, and a positive team culture. This role requires a hands-on leader who can coach managers, develop future leaders, drive community engagement (Spirit Nights, fundraisers, local events), and maintain operational excellence.
Key responsibilities include:
- Deliver outstanding hospitality every shift
- Ensure restaurant cleanliness, food quality, and service standards
- Maintain strong product knowledge (yes, pancakes and pies included!)
- Resolve guest concerns quickly and professionally
- Recruit, train, and coach managers and team members
- Build depth charts and succession plans
- Conduct performance reviews and leadership development plans
- Foster a positive, respectful, and accountable team culture
- Manage labor, food cost, and controllable expenses
- Drive sales through local marketing and community partnerships
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, HR, and brand standards
- Maintain accurate reporting and operational metrics
- Lead Spirit Nights, school partnerships, and fundraising events
- Represent Village Inn in the local community
- Build relationships with guests, vendors, and neighbors
What we're looking for:
- 3+ years restaurant management experience (GM or Assistant GM preferred)
- Strong leadership and coaching skills
- Financial acumen and operational discipline
- Passion for hospitality and community involvement
- Ability to lead in a fast-paced environment
- Weekend/holiday availability
