About
The Manager - Plant Operations of Plant Engineering is responsible for the ongoing, effective operation of the Preventive and Corrective Maintenance services and for their ongoing assessment and improvement activities. The Manager-Plant Operations is responsible for managing construction projects ensuring projects are completed on time, on budget with high quality workmanship. Plans, organizes, directs, coordinates and controls the operations of the Engineering, Maintenance and Grounds departments. Complete all duties and functions of the hospital Safety Officer at the assigned hospitals. Assists in maintaining compliance with applicable regulatory agency requirements, including The Joint Commission (TJC), Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), State and Local agencies, The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), etc. Manages staff and contractors to adequately ensure and maintain the efficient and safe operation of all hospital buildings. Plans, predicts, maintains and repairs building and equipment. Utilizes energy management and tracking tools in order to maintain efficient utility operations. Assist with developing and managing operating and capital budgets. The Manager - Plant Operations of Plant Engineering supports an organizational culture for Service Excellence and practices the Service Excellence Standards to all customer groups.
Coordinates preventive maintenance activities. Develops and manages a plan for providing around-the-clock technical support for the organizations' utility systems and facilities. Coordinates corrective maintenance activities. Responsible for internal and external construction activities to include: Utilizes appropriate leadership skills in supervising, delegating, and evaluating. Demonstrates communication skills to facilitate effective intra-department and inter-department collaboration. Defines self-learning needs and takes initiative to identify areas for potential growth. Applies management knowledge principles to comply with regulatory agencies and with federal, state and hospital standards. Participates in and supports a process to measure, assess, and improve performance of services.
Experience or working knowledge in all aspects of building trades, including HVAC, mechanical, plumbing, electrical, carpentry.

Qualifications
Minimum of High School Diploma and degree or certification in a technical trade or field related to facility maintenance and engineering. Bachelor's degree is preferred. Five years of previous hospital engineering management experience. Construction Supervisor or Project Manager experience preferred. Holds valid driver's license
