Position Overview Job ID: SALES014074 Job Title: Sales & Service Technician (TEMP) Location: 134 Club Road, Windham, CT 06256 Number of Openings: 2 Union: CWA 1298 - CBA 401 Hiring Manager: Tom Smith Residency: 28 Months Salary Grade: WN (Min: $1,011.90 Max: $4,165.37) FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Job Family: Network Services Posted: 6/5/26 This is a temporary position lasting up to 12 months. The successful candidate will be eligible for consideration for future permanent employment upon conclusion of the assignment. Responsibilities Installs, removes, rearranges, programs, tests, troubleshoots, and maintains voice, data, and ancillary equipment and network services. Installs, maintains, and repairs outside and inside plant equipment/facilities and inside wire. Performs cable pair recovery activity and restores service outages. Interfaces with customers to analyze installation and repair issues; provides follow‑up. Interprets schematic work order drawings to determine job specifications and installation needs; orders and/or obtains required equipment; solves problems when appropriate. Utilizes test equipment to analyze equipment trouble and takes appropriate maintenance action. Operates standard and aerial lift vehicles and various tools and equipment. May be required to perform additional duties and tasks as required by the Company. Basic Qualifications Ability to work in confined areas. Ability to lift and carry toolboxes, drop wire, parts containers, installation loads, test equipment, generators, manhole/pull box covers, and similar items. Ability to climb poles, ladders, and take down ladders. Ability to communicate naturally and pleasantly over the telephone and/or in person. Ability to work under pressure in stressful conditions. Requires alertness and attention to detail. A valid driver’s license and ability to meet medical and driver certification requirements as established by the DOT Federal Highway Safety Act; not restricted to daylight hours. Ability to read and interpret architectural and electrical wiring diagrams. Ability to operate test equipment such as VOMs, test sets, etc. Experience in one or a combination of Equipment Technician, Special Services Technician, Telecommunications Technician, T&P Technician, Cable Splicer, Systems Technician, Network Maintainer, I&R Technician, and Cable Technician is preferred. Must possess the ability to perceive differences in colors and distinguish audible tones/levels. Work includes indoor‑outdoor conditions, exposure to adverse weather, dust, noise, heat, poor lighting, fumes, etc.; may work in buildings under construction or renovation, manholes, rough terrain, traffic, aerial lifts, platforms, etc.; may be exposed to high voltage electrical power lines, explosive or flammable liquids/gases, oxygen deficiency, carbon monoxide, lead toxicity, asbestos materials, and molten lead/wax. May be required to work weekday, weekend, holiday, day, evening, night hours, and may be subject to scheduled and/or unscheduled overtime and call‑out. Training & Education Successful completion of an advanced electronics concepts course from an accredited or recognized educational institution. Desire a degree in electronics technology, including successful completion of digital logic, electronic communications, and microprocessor fundamentals from an accredited or recognized educational institution.
