This permanent, site-based role involves overseeing high-specification mechanical installations, piping systems, and site-based trade teams for major industrial, pharmaceutical, or commercial developments.
This is a critical site-based leadership position for a safety-conscious professional who can drive project schedules efficiently while maintaining superior installation standards.
Core Responsibilities Site Leadership: Direct, coordinate, and mentor site-based mechanical teams, subcontractors, and direct labour to achieve weekly milestones.
Installation Oversight: Manage the day-to-day installation of mechanical services, plant equipment, and process piping systems in line with P&IDs and isometric drawings.
Quality & Compliance: Oversee QA/QC inspections, pressure testing, and document tracking to ensure all installations meet strict client specifications and Building Regulations.
Coordination: Liaise with Project Managers, main contractors, and other trades on-site to resolve spatial clashes and maintain the construction sequence.
Safety Management: Champion a proactive zero-harm safety culture, conducting daily toolbox talks, reviewing RAMS, and ensuring compliance with HSA guidelines.
Reporting: Maintain detailed site diaries, progress logs, and material requisitions to support the commercial and engineering teams.
Candidate Profile Qualification: Fully qualified Plumber, Pipefitter, or a relevant mechanical trade (National Craft Certificate, SOLAS, or equivalent).
Experience: 5+ years of experience in mechanical contracting, with at least 23 years in a supervisory or foreman capacity on commercial, industrial, or pharmaceutical projects.
Technical Skills: Exceptional ability to read and interpret complex mechanical drawings, P&IDs, and isometric detailing.
Safety: Valid Safe Pass, Manual Handling, and site safety management certification (e.g., CSCS, Managing Safely in Construction).
Logistics: Full, clean Irish driving licence.
Compensation & Benefits Salary Range: €60,000 €75,000 per annum (Negotiable based on experience).
