For over 60 years, the Fleet Ballistic Missile (FBM) team has supported the Navy's mission to provide affordable and credible strategic defense. As the FBM Life Extension 2 (LE2) Materials and Processes Associate Manager at Lockheed Martin Space, you have an immediate impact in shaping the organization's future. This is an opportunity to lead a dynamic PMP team supporting Missile programs. - Coach and oversee group and individual development using technical leadership and performance management
- Ensure efforts are effectively staffed and that personnel are fully engaged and committed to program success
- Maintain awareness, engagement and communication of critical issues and their reach across programs
- Lead and execute strategic initiatives to improve cost, schedule, and technical performance
- Provide leadership to technical projects across all program phases and with impact across multiple program areas
- Participate in the selection, qualification, testing, and failure analysis of M&P, prepare technical and progress reports on work you're doing, prepare specifications, evaluate suppliers and analyze test reports
We're looking for:
- Your expertise coordinating work and personnel across multiple work locations and organizational structures
- You, a highly motivated individual able to form effective relationships within program, with other enterprise organizations, and with customer personnel
- Experience balancing multiple, competing priorities in a highly dynamic, high-tempo environment
- Balancing programmatic, functional, leadership, and technical tasks
- Ability to clearly communicate complex technical and programmatic issues to your team, peers, management and customers
- Experience modeling Full Spectrum Leadership imperatives, ownership and accountability
- Proven skills providing technical and administrative direction to other employees, and stakeholders
Desired skills:
- Experience in mentoring and supporting career development
- Expertise with a variety of materials and process engineering disciplines including adhesives, lubricants, hydraulic fluids, tapes, silicone rubber, bonding, cleaning, problem investigations, root cause analysis, and manufacturing processes for high reliability aerospace products
- Experience with part procurement, qualification and traceability issues
- Experience working closely with subcontractors
- Broad experience in the selection and application of parts, materials and processes
- Experience participating in major program milestone reviews such as PDR and CDR
- Experience providing schedule, staffing, workload, metrics and technical issue briefings to management
- Project Management experience

Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $104,500 - $184,115. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer. Benefits offered: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, 401(k) match, Flexible Spending Accounts, EAP, Education Assistance, Parental Leave, Paid time off, and Holidays. (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year. This position is incentive plan eligible.
