Procurement Manager Location County Louth Salary Competitive salary + benefits package (DOE) About the Role We are seeking an experienced Procurement Manager to join a leading residential construction company delivering large-scale housing developments across Ireland.

This is a key position responsible for developing procurement strategies, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring the timely and cost-effective procurement of materials and subcontract packages across multiple projects.
The successful candidate will have a strong background in residential construction procurement and a proven ability to negotiate contracts while maintaining quality, programme, and budget objectives.
Key Responsibilities Develop and implement procurement strategies to support project delivery.
Source, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors to achieve best value.
Manage the procurement process from tender enquiry through to contract award.
Build and maintain long-term relationships with key suppliers and subcontractors.
Work closely with Commercial, Estimating, Design, and Project Management teams to forecast procurement requirements.
Ensure materials and services are delivered on time to meet project schedules.
Monitor market trends, pricing fluctuations, and supply chain risks.
Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
Maintain approved supplier databases and conduct supplier performance reviews.
Ensure compliance with company procurement policies, contractual obligations, and industry regulations.
Assist in resolving supply chain issues and mitigate project risks.
Produce procurement reports and provide regular updates to senior management.
Essential Requirements Minimum 5 years' experience in procurement within the residential construction sector.
Proven experience procuring materials, plant, and subcontract packages for residential developments.
Strong understanding of construction contracts and procurement processes.
Excellent negotiation and commercial awareness.
Experience managing supplier and subcontractor relationships.
Ability to work across multiple projects simultaneously.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and procurement/ERP systems.
Full driving licence.
Desirable Qualifications Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related discipline.
Membership of CIPS or another relevant professional body is advantageous.
Experience working with Tier 1 or Tier 2 residential developers or main contractors.
Knowledge of Irish construction procurement practices and supply chains.
Personal Attributes Highly organised with excellent attention to detail.
Commercially focused with strong decision-making skills.
Proactive and able to work independently.
Collaborative approach with the ability to build strong internal and external relationships.
Adaptable and capable of working in a fast-paced construction environment.
