Meath (Hybrid Working Available) Company Type: Modular Construction & Off-Site Manufacturing Salary: Negotiable DOE + Benefits Package Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time Overview BSS is recruiting a Design Manager on behalf of a leading modular construction contractor.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Architect or Design Manager to join a progressive business at the forefront of Modern Methods of Construction (MMC).
The successful candidate will take responsibility for the coordination, management, and delivery of design information across a range of modular construction projects, ensuring projects progress efficiently from concept through to manufacture and construction.
Key Responsibilities Manage the design development process for modular construction projects.
Coordinate consultants and design teams to deliver project milestones and key deliverables.
Support the attainment and maintenance of NSAI Agreement Certification and ISO 19650 standards.
Act as Design Certifier on projects where required.
Support estimating and bid teams with technical input during tender submissions.
Develop and manage in-house BIM and drafting capabilities.
Chair regular design team meetings and coordinate project stakeholders.
Appoint and manage external consultants and specialist design subcontractors.
Prepare and manage design information schedules and ensure programme compliance.
Liaise regularly with clients, architects, consultants, local authorities, factory teams, and site management.
Review design information for buildability, compliance, cost-effectiveness, and regulatory requirements.
Identify value engineering opportunities throughout the design process.
Resolve technical issues proactively and efficiently.
Manage the timely delivery of design information to support procurement, manufacturing, and construction activities.
Assist with planning applications and statutory approval processes where required.
Requirements Degree qualified Architect.
Membership of the RIAI.
Chartered status preferred.
Previous experience within timber frame, modular construction, or MMC environments is essential.
Proven experience in a Design Manager, Design Coordinator, Senior Architect, or Associate Architect role.
Strong understanding of Irish Building Regulations and construction compliance requirements.
Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit.
Strong communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
Excellent planning, coordination, and problem-solving abilities.
Strong attention to detail and technical knowledge.
Ability to manage multiple design workstreams and deliver projects to programme deadlines.
Collaborative approach with the ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
