This role involves deep technical engagement, from validating new designs to performing critical electrical tests and ensuring adherence to our stringent quality standards.
You'll collaborate closely with design engineers, playing a crucial role in delivering robust, defect-free products to market.
Key Responsibilities Lead the development, analysis, and documentation of test requirements with cross-functional stakeholders.
Own test strategy and detailed test planning, ensuring full requirements traceability and risk-based coverage.
Architect, design, and implement scalable, maintainable automated test systems using NI LabVIEW and TestStand.
Define test specifications, verification methodologies, and acceptance criteria for complex systems.
Lead complex troubleshooting, debugging, and root-cause analysis activities.
Drive continuous improvement of test frameworks, architecture, and development practices.
Specify, integrate, and optimise a broad range of measurement instruments and interfaces.
Ensure compliance with internal quality, safety, and regulatory standards, supporting audits where required.
Mentor and technically guide less experienced engineers.
Influence long-term test automation strategy and engineering best practices Influence long-term test automation strategy and engineering best practices.
Essential Qualifications & Skills Minimum 5 years' experience in automated test development for embedded electronic products.
Strong proficiency in NI LabVIEW; Certified LabVIEW Developer (CLD) or higher certification is highly desirable.
Good understanding of embedded systems, electronics, and measurement instrumentation.
Experience with test hardware design and hardware/software interfacing (e.g., serial, IC, SPI, CAN).
Strong problem-solving, analytical, and documentation skills.
Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
Advantageous Skills Familiarity with automated QA tools (e.g., Selenium, Python, CLI).
Degree in Electronic Engineering (or related discipline) desirable.
Familiarity with TestStand, DAQ, or instrument control is an advantage.
Comfortable working on main's power products.
Proficiency in defect logging systems (e.g., Jira).
Proficiency in source code control systems (e.g., Bitbucket, SourceTree, GitHub).
