- €95,000+ (D.O.E.) Sector: Building & Civil Engineering Role Type: Full-Time Permanent About the Role FRS Recruitment, working closely with our client, are seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a well-established and growing construction contractor based in Kerry.
This is a key appointment within the commercial team and offers the opportunity to take ownership of the financial management of multiple projects across the Kerry region.
The successful candidate will work closely with senior management, project teams and clients, helping to drive commercial performance while contributing to the continued growth of the business.
The role will be a mix between the office, with regular site visits as required.
The office serves as a key commercial hub for projects throughout the region and is supported by an experienced Managing Surveyor and wider leadership team.
The role is also open to strong Intermediate QS's who are considering developing into a Senior role.
Responsibilities Lead the commercial management of multiple live construction projects.
Prepare and manage project budgets, forecasts and cost reports.
Oversee procurement of subcontractors and key supply chain partners.
Manage variations, valuations, claims and contractual matters.
Monitor project expenditure and implement effective cost controls.
Identify value engineering opportunities throughout project delivery.
Provide commercial guidance to project and site management teams.
Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.
Support and mentor junior members of the commercial team.
Ensure projects are delivered in line with agreed commercial objectives.
Requirements Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Engineering or a related discipline.
8+ years' experience in a Quantity Surveying role within construction.
Strong background working with a main contractor environment.
Proven experience managing the commercial aspects of multiple projects.
Excellent understanding of construction contracts and procurement processes.
Strong commercial awareness, negotiation and cost management skills.
Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.
Full driving licence and eligibility to work in Ireland.
