The Opportunity UCF IT within Facilities and Business Operations seeks a motivated and collaborative IT Project Manager I to support the planning, coordination, and delivery of high‑impact IT projects from initiation through implementation. The role ensures projects remain aligned with organizational goals, are delivered on time, within budget, and support strategic initiatives, including AI and automation.
Responsibilities Project Coordination & Execution
Manage technology projects throughout the entire lifecycle—from initiation to implementation.
Maintain detailed project plans, documentation, milestones, and action items.
Track progress and proactively raise risks or issues to ensure continuity and on‑time delivery.
Provide timely, accurate status updates to leadership, project teams, and stakeholders.
Facilitate project meetings, stand‑ups, and executive briefings to align and maintain momentum.
Data, Reporting & Financial Oversight
Ensure accuracy and completeness of project‑related data.
Analyze and report insights that identify emerging issues and guide decision‑making.
Monitor and reconcile project expenses, ensuring budget compliance and transparency.
AI/Automation & IT Process Improvement
Support IT initiatives that leverage AI and automation to enhance efficiency, scalability, and consistency.
Identify opportunities to streamline processes and reduce manual workload.
PMO Standards & Continuous Improvement
Maintain project management tools, templates, and documentation in line with PMO standards.
Participate in lessons learned and post‑project review sessions to support ongoing improvement.
Recommend enhancements to project processes, tools, and methodologies.
Collaboration & Strategic Alignment
Work closely with the Manager of IT Planning and Projects and senior project managers to ensure alignment with IT strategic objectives.
Engage internal and external partners to drive progress on priority initiatives.
Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree and at least 2 years of relevant experience; or High School Diploma (or equivalent) and at least 6 years of relevant work experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Qualifications
2+ years of experience in project coordination, project support, or related IT roles within structured project environments.
Working knowledge of project management principles and methodologies, including risk, issue, and dependency management.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) and experience with project management platforms such as Jira, Trello, or Microsoft Planner.
Exposure to AI‑driven tools that support project management, reporting, or workflow optimization.
Experience analyzing project data and developing dashboards, reports, or executive summaries using Excel, Power BI, or similar tools.
Experience supporting project budget tracking, expense reconciliation, or financial reporting within IT or operational environments.
Experience working in Agile or Scrum environments; foundation‑level certification (e.g., CAPM, Certified ScrumMaster, Agile Fundamentals) preferred.
Experience preparing and delivering clear project updates and presentations for leadership or executive stakeholders, and documenting workflows or business processes using flowcharts or process‑mapping tools.
Understanding of business and operational processes (e.g., contracts, procurement, budgeting, HR) and exposure to enterprise IT environments, infrastructure initiatives, or large‑scale system implementations.
