JOB DESCRIPTION The Electrical Design Project Manager plays a key role in delivering high-quality electrical design solutions while supporting the planning, coordination, and execution of projects. With guidance from the Office Executive and department managers, this role blends hands‑on electrical design with project management responsibilities—partnering with project teams to help drive schedules, manage scope, and support client needs while ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Assists in reviewing project proposals and work plans to understand scope, schedule, budget, staffing needs, and project delivery approach
Supports the development of work plans and staffing needs for various project phases; coordinates with project managers on resource planning
Contributes to the development and execution of project plans and methodologies for single‑discipline projects
Works with project managers and project teams to help define tasks, responsibilities, and scopes of work
Performs technical design tasks and provides design support throughout all phases of the project
Coordinates with internal team members to help keep projects on schedule and within budget
Tracks project progress and assists with updates to schedules, budgets, and work plans as needed
Attends project meetings and supports development of design concepts; assists with revisions to meet client requirements
Prepares project documentation, reports, and meeting materials for internal teams and clients
Assists with client communication and coordination to support strong client relationships and satisfaction
Provides technical input and helps resolve design or coordination issues under the direction of senior staff
Supports proposal development, additional service requests, timesheet reviews, invoicing, and basic budget tracking
Occasional to moderate travel may be required
Performs other duties as assigned
Supervisory Responsibilities
May provide informal guidance or technical support to junior staff; no formal supervisory responsibility anticipated at this level
Experience
5+ years of relevant design experience, with exposure to project coordination or task-level project management
Education
BS in Engineering or related field
Minimum Qualifications, Skills, and Abilities
Ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation
Strong technical and design skills with interest in expanding project management responsibilities
Ability to collaborate effectively with project managers, designers, and clients
Licenses / Registrations
P.E. preferred
Compensation The salary range for this position is $78,000- $123,000. The actual salary offered will be dependent on the preferred candidate’s experience, expertise, and physical location.
