As a
Design Engineer II
at LJA
Land Development , you will be responsible for leading the business development strategy and driving growth for the Land Development practice throughout the West Texas and Panhandle region, including Lubbock, Amarillo, and Midland/Odessa. This client‑facing role focuses on developing and maintaining strong relationships with both internal and external clients while overseeing strategic planning, quality assurance, and problem resolution. The position may be based in either Lubbock or Midland, depending on candidate preference. A typical day might include
Applying prescribed methods to complete limited and specific portions of broader engineering assignments. Adjusting and correlating data to ensure accuracy and consistency. Recognizing discrepancies in results and following operations through a series of related detailed steps or processes. Exercising limited judgment in making preliminary method selections and adopting alternatives. Designing specific system components as part of the overall project design effort. Performing design calculations, preparing equipment or material specifications, and providing direction to technical support or drafting personnel. Collaborating closely with team members and senior engineers to meet project deadlines and maintain quality standards. Required education/license/certifications
Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering. Required qualifications
2+ years of single-family land development experience required. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to build and maintain strong relationships within a collaborative team environment. Ideally you should also have
Experience working on multidisciplinary land development projects. Familiarity with design standards and municipal approval processes in the region. Level up with LJA
