Description The Training Systems Instructional Systems Design (ISD) engineer will establish requirements following the standard ISD process for new capabilities being incorporated onto the F‑35 platform. The ISD engineer will collaborate with the Training Systems Architecture team, subject matter experts, suppliers, and government team members to create effective training solutions. The engineer will follow the process from initial requirements through implementation at the schoolhouse and in the training devices.
Responsibilities
Evaluate, analyze, and implement training solutions to improve and enhance Training Systems.
Develop a structured process for development of training materials and familiarization training content.
Perform post‑training analysis and integrate findings into front‑end design.
Provide SME support to other LM Aeronautics engineering departments.
Support the overall Training Systems strategy to improve human performance across the full product life‑cycle.
Assist the Training Systems organization in generating effective presentation materials for warfighter symposiums.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in an engineering/technical discipline from an accredited college.
Experience using the 5‑step ADDIE process.
Desired Skills
Advanced degree in Instructional Systems Design, Human Factors, or related discipline.
Experience collaborating with internal/external customers.
Experience maintaining and/or operating avionics systems on fighter aircraft.
Considered a Subject Matter Expert (SME) or authority in aircraft training systems.
Demonstrated expertise with the systematic approach to training and/or instructional systems design.
Familiarity with human performance technology analysis models.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Experience with training systems and/or simulation products.
Experience as pilot vehicle interface (PVI), human‑machine interface (MMI), or human factors.
Experience conducting job task analysis, deriving performance objectives, designing training curriculum and programs, and developing training effectiveness tools.
Ability to adapt training content delivery to maximize student comprehension and retention.
Security Clearance Statement This position requires a government security clearance. Candidates must be a U.S. citizen.
Clearance Level Secret
Work Schedule 4×10 hour days, 3 days off per week.
