Job Summary Senior Java Developer – Backend processing of tens of millions of transactions for Morgan Stanley. The role is based in Manhattan, NY, onsite for 12 months.
Location & Details Work location: 750 Seventh Avenue, Manhattan, NY. Duration: 12 months. Full-time. Onsite.
Responsibilities
Develop new applications and enhance existing applications for the Trade Completion (TC) Application Team.
Implement solutions using Java‑based tools and technologies, focusing on high‑volume transaction processing.
Collaborate with global partners in business unit and operations areas, providing solutions to business problems.
Interact with senior development team members and stakeholders across multiple regions.
Conduct performance tuning, stress testing, and debugging to ensure system reliability.
Participate in automated and manual testing of deliverables.
Qualifications & Experience
6‑9 years of total software development experience.
2–3 recent assignments at investment banks or investment‑management companies as a Java developer.
Experience with large‑scale, high‑volume transaction processing systems.
Strong core Java development and Java Spring expertise.
Microservices architecture experience.
Cloud technologies experience (e.g., AWS, Azure).
Linux/UNIX environment proficiency.
Multi‑threading and concurrent programming skills.
Strong debugging, performance tuning, and stress‑testing experience.
Financial services / capital markets domain experience.
Technical Skills
Java, Spring Boot, and microservices.
Cloud services and orchestration.
Perl, Shell scripting, and other scripting languages.
Multi‑threaded programming and design patterns.
Automated and manual testing tools, including performance tuning and stress testing.
Soft Skills
Strong verbal, written, and presentation skills.
Team‑oriented approach within a global collaborative model.
Ability to think on feet, solve problems, and express ideas in meetings.
Self‑sufficient and able to lead when given the opportunity.
Interview Process 1 video interview and 1 in‑person interview. Must be a US resident after college.
