What does this role look like?
Supply Chain's vision is to enable customer and mission success through supply chain strategies and execution that deliver superior operational program performance and create competitive advantage through continuous improvement. It is our mission to deliver affordable supply chain solutions that meet all program requirements and manage supply chain risks to ensure positive performance through all phases of the program life-cycle from capture to sustainment. On the Space Based Interceptor (SBI) Program, Supply Chain is responsible for developing a competitive sourcing strategy and bringing our suppliers on board through the development lifecycle. The subcontractors we manage are vital in supporting design, build and deployment of a space-based missile defense interceptor system that will demonstrate capability integrated into the GDA (Golden Dome of America) architecture.
In this role you will have the following daily key responsibilities:
- Support the SBI Program Office in execution of the overall program. Maintain a clear understanding of the mission purpose and capture strategy. Develop partnering strategies with adjacent mission areas to enable a high degree of reuse.
- Lead and manage a team of 5-10 personnel comprised of Subcontract Program Managers (SPMs), Subcontract Managers (SCM) and Subcontract Administrators). Work with other functional areas to build Subcontract Management Teams (SCMTs) for the assigned hardware / software / services.
- Monitor and support each SCMT as they manage the overall cost, schedule and technical execution of their subcontractor. Each SCMT is expected to actively manage the supplier in delivering solutions on budget and schedule and develop and implement correction actions when necessary.
- Work with mission partners in other mission areas and the Enterprise Strategic Sourcing Directorate for procurement of similar or overlapping products.
- Support all SBI proposal efforts
- Responsible for providing status reporting as required and support Global Supply Chain business rhythm
- Travel (up to 30%) to the customer and subcontractor locations is required.
To be effective, ideally, you should also have:
- Three years of current experience on large cost plus government programs
- Experience as an in-house program manager, with proven track recording of delivering space or missile products.
- An engineering background.
- Experience with managing all contract types: Cost Plus, Incentive Fee, Firm Fixed Price contract types.
- Proven record of managing and delivering critical, large subcontract products, with focus on complex development subcontracts to deliver on time and within budget
- Experience in all phases of program capture. Prior experience working on a proposal team, and generating proposal products (program management / technical / cost volumes, basis of estimates (BOEs), build of material (BOMs), etc).
- Control Account Management (CAM) certification and experience
- Ability to develop strong supplier relationships and positively impact supplier performance

Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
