Position Summary
Staff Data Engineer – Wellesley, MA (Telecommuting available) Responsibilities
Develop large‑scale data structures and pipelines to collect, organize, and standardize data for insights and reporting. Write ETL (Extract/Transform/Load) processes, design database systems, and create tools for real‑time and offline analytic processing. Collaborate with Data Science to transform data and integrate algorithms and models into automated workflows. Leverage Hadoop architecture, HDFS commands, and query optimization to build efficient data pipelines. Utilize programming skills in Python, Java, or similar languages to construct robust data pipelines and dynamic systems. Build data marts and data models to support Data Science and other internal customers. Integrate data from diverse sources while ensuring adherence to data quality and accessibility standards. Analyze existing IT environments to identify critical capabilities and recommend solutions. Experiment with available tools and advise on new technologies to deliver optimal solutions aligned with model/use‑case requirements. Mentor junior team members. Independently lead the development of high‑complexity, high‑risk solutions. Requirements
Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field. Minimum five (5) years of experience in each of the following:
Development of large data warehouses. Oracle or similar databases, including advanced partitioning, indexing, SQL tuning, and security. ETL tools such as PL/SQL, DataStage, Informatica, or Oracle Warehouse Builder. Programming with Unix, Korn Shell scripting, SQL, and/or PL/SQL.
Compensation and Benefits
Pay Range: $184,995.00 to $284,280.00 per year (base salary). The actual offer depends on experience, education, geography, and other factors. Eligible for CVS Health bonus, commission, or short‑term incentive programs, and an equity award program.
