Job Summary To maintain the technology equipment throughout the schools in the district in a condition of operating excellence so that full educational use of them may be made at all times in accordance with the mission of the school district.
Qualifications
Associate’s degree in computer technology or equivalent technician training and on‑job experience; industry certifications a plus.
Five years’ experience in network installation, maintenance, and administration (preferred).
Experience with network device configurations: routers, switches, servers, printers, desktops, Chromebooks, cameras, etc.
Understanding of network architectures including LAN/WAN topologies and virtual networking.
Knowledge and experience with Windows OS (workstation and server) and Microsoft Active Directory.
Experience with network and user‑based software applications such as Microsoft Active Directory, Microsoft Office, Google Suite for Education, and VMware.
Time management and organizational skills.
Excellent interpersonal and follow‑up skills.
Ability to work without direct supervision.
Other qualifications as determined by the Board of Trustees.
Responsibilities
Perform network administration and resolve problems related to the local and wide‑area network.
Install, configure, and maintain LAN/WAN hardware such as file servers, routers, firewalls, switches, VoIP phone system, and networked peripheral devices.
Assist with access control systems.
Maintain inventory of network devices.
Manage backup systems.
Assist with maintenance of Internet content filtering hardware and software.
Administer user accounts across systems.
Assist with selection of technology equipment and systems.
Assist with training district personnel in the proper use of technology.
Support device repairs for desktops, laptops, and Chromebooks.
Promote good public relations through professional and ethical execution of job responsibilities.
Perform other duties as directed.
