The Platforms and Devices team encompasses Google’s computing platforms across desktop, mobile, applications, and first‑party devices and services that combine the best of Google AI, software, and hardware. Teams research, design and develop new technologies to make user interaction faster and more seamless, building innovative experiences worldwide.
Preferred working locations include
San Jose, CA, USA; Miami, FL, USA; Waterloo, ON, Canada .
US: $147,000 – $211,000 (USD) + 15% bonus target + equity + benefits. Canada: $150,000 – $154,000 (CAD) + 15% bonus target + equity + benefits.
Minimum qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
2 years of experience in C++.
2 years of experience working with embedded operating systems.
Experience in imaging‑related domains such as image processing, computer vision, or computational photography.
Experience in designing and implementing image processing pipelines.
Preferred qualifications
Master’s degree or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field.
2 years of experience with performance, large‑scale systems data analysis, visualization tools, or debugging.
2 years of experience with data structures or algorithms in either an academic or industry setting.
Experience developing accessible technologies.
Proficiency in code and system health diagnosis and resolution, and software test development.
Responsibilities
Participate in or lead design reviews with peers and stakeholders to decide among available technologies.
Review code developed by other developers and provide feedback to ensure best practices such as style guidelines, code quality, testability, and efficiency.
Contribute to existing documentation or educational content and adapt it based on product or program updates and user feedback.
Triage product or system issues and debug, track, and resolve them by analyzing sources of the issues and the impact on hardware, network, or service operations and quality.
Write product or system development code.
