Position Summary Caremark, LLC., a CVS Health company, is hiring a Staff Data Engineer in Woonsocket, RI to develop, build, and manage large-scale data structures, pipelines, and efficient Extract/Load/Transform (ETL) workflows. Responsibilities include designing database systems, building data marts, integrating diverse data sources, ensuring data quality, troubleshooting, and collaborating with the Data Science team on automated processes.
Responsibilities
Develop large‑scale data structures and pipelines to organize, collect, and standardize data for insights and reporting.
Write ETL (Extract/Transform/Load) processes and design database systems to support real‑time and offline analytic processing.
Build tools for real‑time and offline analytic processing that improve existing systems and expand capabilities.
Collaborate with the Data Science team to transform data and integrate algorithms and models into automated processes.
Test, maintain, and troubleshoot systems.
Leverage knowledge of Hadoop architecture, HDFS commands, and query optimization to build efficient data pipelines.
Use programming skills in Python, Java or similar languages to build robust data pipelines.
Build data marts and data models that support Data Science and other internal customers.
Integrate data from a variety of sources and ensure adherence to data quality and accessibility standards.
Analyze current IT environments to identify critical capabilities and recommend solutions.
Experiment with available tools and advise on new tools to provide optimal solutions.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Analytics, Information Technology, or a related field.
Five (5) years of progressive, post‑baccalaureate experience in related occupation or closely related fields.
Proficiency with requirement analysis, end‑to‑end solution design, and maintenance of software applications.
Experience designing and developing large‑scale, high‑volume, high‑performance data structures.
Experience with CI/CD, Jenkins, GIT, or DevOps practices.
Experience with cloud technologies (Azure, Amazon Web Services, or Google Cloud Platform).
Programming skills in Java, Python, or R.
Proficiency with SAS or SQL programming languages.
Experience with databases such as Oracle, Teradata, or DB2.
Knowledge of Spark, PySpark, or Scala.
Experience with Hadoop architecture or HDFS commands and Hadoop/Hive.
Experience with Unix, Linux, or Shell scripting.
Experience with big data implementation.
Pay Range $179,296.00/year to $213,210.00/year – base salary. Position is eligible for bonus, commission, short‑term incentive program, and equity award program.
