Business Intelligence Analyst / Application Developer Location: Detroit, MI | Schedule: Monday–Friday, 40 hours/week | Duration: Long-Term Contract Opportunity
Compensation Guidelines Candidates should be submitted based on experience level:
Mid-Level: $45–$65/hour
Senior-Level: $65–$80+/hour
Particularly strong candidates with advanced Power BI, Power Platform, or systems integration expertise may be considered at the higher end of the range.
Overview Our client is seeking a Business Intelligence Analyst / Application Developer to design, develop, and enhance business applications that support reporting, analytics, and operational decision-making. This role will focus on building data-driven solutions, integrating multiple data sources, and continuously improving applications that help stakeholders access meaningful insights and make informed business decisions. The ideal candidate combines application development experience with strong business intelligence and data integration skills. Experience with Microsoft PowerApps or similar low‑code development platforms is highly preferred.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, maintain, and enhance business applications that support reporting, analytics, and decision-making initiatives
Build and manage integrations between applications, databases, and multiple data sources
Partner with business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate business needs into technical solutions
Evaluate existing applications and recommend enhancements, new features, and functionality improvements
Develop and maintain data models, database connections, and queries that support accurate and timely reporting
Ensure solutions adhere to best practices for data quality, security, reliability, and performance
Troubleshoot and resolve application, integration, and data-related issues
Create and maintain technical documentation for applications, integrations, and enhancements
Support solution testing, deployment activities, and end‑user adoption efforts
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Analytics, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
Experience designing and developing business applications and data‑driven solutions
Experience working with databases and data integration technologies
Strong understanding of business intelligence, reporting, analytics, and decision‑support concepts
Ability to translate complex business requirements into practical technical solutions
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Microsoft PowerApps, Microsoft Power Platform, or similar low‑code/no‑code development tools
Experience integrating data from SQL databases, cloud platforms, APIs, and other enterprise systems
Experience with business intelligence tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar platforms
Experience supporting enterprise or departmental applications used for operational and strategic decision-making
