About

Certified Athletic Trainer Under the direction of the Athletic Director, the Certified Athletic Trainer provides preventive, emergency, and rehabilitative care to student-athletes participating in high school athletic programs. The Certified Athletic Trainer works collaboratively with coaching staff, team physicians, and consulting medical professionals to support student health and safety and performs related duties as assigned. Knowledge of: - Principles of anatomy, kinesiology, physiology, nutrition, and first aid. - Prevention, recognition, and treatment of athletic injuries. - Physical fitness, hygiene, and safety procedures related to athletic programs. - Safety and protective athletic equipment. - Taping, bandaging, therapeutic, and rehabilitative techniques. - Disinfection and sanitation procedures. - General principles of training, supervision, and work direction. - Individualized rehabilitation and reconditioning techniques. - First aid and CPR practices. - Oral and written communication skills. - Record-keeping and report preparation methods. Ability to: - Instruct students in proper exercise, rehabilitation, and injury-prevention techniques. - Operate first aid, rehabilitation, and adaptive athletic equipment. - Understand and follow oral and written instructions. - Establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, staff, parents, and medical professionals. - Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. - Maintain accurate records and prepare reports. Education and Experience: - Any combination equivalent to a bachelor's degree in athletic training, physical education, or a related field, and at least one year of experience in the care, management, and prevention of athletic injuries. Licenses and Other Requirements: - Valid California Driver's License. - Valid First-Aid/ CPR Certification. - Current National Certification as a Certified Athletic Trainer (BOC or equivalent).
