Facility & Infrastructure Project Planner

General Atomics Electromagnetic Systems (GA-EMS) designs and manufactures first-of-a-kind electromagnetic and electric power generation systems. GA-EMS' expanding portfolio of specialized products and integrated system solutions support critical fleet, space systems and satellites, missile defense, power and energy, and process and monitoring applications for defense, industrial, and commercial customers worldwide.

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Facility & Infrastructure Project Planner to join our team in Centennial, CO.

As a Project Planner, you will serve as the primary point of contact for new and emerging projects of various sizes, budgets, and complexity. Projects may consist of simple space office/lab upgrades, A/V or network upgrades, furniture installation, to more complex, multi-million tenant improvements/new facility integrations.

This role will take new project requests from intake through to full project completion by partnering with stakeholders to develop requirements, create budgets and schedules, and establish resource plans. Projects will be located throughout the continental U.S., requiring 25-50% travel.

The ideal candidate has successfully participated as an owner's representative, by leading functional organizations (security, ITS, Facilities, HR), business leaders and contractors throughout the United States. Communication is the key to your success, as is the ability to manage multiple projects and deliverables in a fast-paced environment.

Duties And Responsibilities:
  • Review, develop, and present data related to developing and ongoing projects.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to determine project scope, specifications, costs, and schedules.
  • Develop comprehensive project requirements documents based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, business plans, headcount growth, assembly, integration, and testing processes.
  • Facilitate and/or participate in various meetings, including Owner-Architect-Contractor (OAC) meetings, internal business updates, scheduling and project controls meetings, and program management reviews.
  • Conduct value engineering exercises to refine scope and improve budgets and schedules
  • Monitor project schedules and identify risks and opportunities.
  • Utilize project management software to track schedules and budgets
  • Maintain, analyze, update, and develop electronic and hard copy records/reports; deliver presentations as required.
  • Continually monitor performance and recommend or implement improvements.
  • Performs other duties as assigned or required.
