Coding Specialist Job Category: Medical Records Full-Time On-site Medical Records | Suite 204 Mt Carmel, IL 62863, USA Pay or shift range: $19 USD to $23.75 USD The estimated range is the budgeted amount for this position. Final offers are based on various factors, including skill set, experience, location, qualifications and other job-related reasons. Description The Coding Specialist must demonstrate and implement a good working knowledge of the computer system and medical terminology. The Coding Specialist must be able analyze Inpatient, Observation, and Surgery charts effectively to determine the correct codes for both diagnosis and procedures using ICD-10-CM and CPT coding rules and regulations in accordance with the WGH Corporate Compliance Plan. The Coder must be able to assign the correct level of care codes for the facility along with assigning the correct physician component level for charges on all encounters. After identifying the codes and level of care, must enter those charges into the computer system for billing. The Coder will be responsible for checking Medical Necessity and bundling issues on all visits. The Coder will assist the HIM Director and others with varied duties as needed to include but not limited to: correcting any data entry errors, review payer guidelines on CMS, BCBS, UHC, Medicaid and other payer websites, documenting for meaningful use, responding to inquiries, and assisting with audits. Education, license, or any special requirements:
ICD-10 and CPT coding experience, RHIT, CIC, CPC, CCS preferred Experience with Microsoft Office Training or 1 year experience with Medical Terminology and Anatomy and Physiology preferred
