Position Overview System/Network Administrator
Location:
Linden, NJ (relocating to East Windsor, NJ) – on site 5 days a week. Candidates must be able to work in Linden during the transition and remain with the company through the move.
Responsibilities The System/Network Administrator is responsible for ensuring the stability, integrity, and efficient operation of the organization's IT infrastructure. Key duties include:
Maintain Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, file/print services, and VPNs.
Create and maintain a detailed system topology with baseline configurations.
Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and network issues.
Monitor system performance and ensure availability and reliability.
Maintain accurate documentation on system configurations, policies, and procedures.
Support backup and disaster recovery strategies and conduct regular testing.
Install, troubleshoot, and update company software and hardware as needed.
Anticipate and report the cost of replacing or updating computer items.
Ensure all IT system configurations comply with NIST SP 800-series, NISPOM, DAAPM, and RMF.
Assist in planning and executing infrastructure upgrades and migrations.
Coordinate with IT lead to close any compliance gaps.
Qualifications & Experience
BS Degree in Computer Information Systems, Information Technology, or Computer Science required.
Working knowledge of relevant operating systems, software, and hardware.
Solid knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server, Active Directory, and network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Experience with network equipment such as managed switches and next‑generation firewalls.
Excellent problem‑solving and critical‑thinking skills.
Efficient troubleshooting abilities.
Self‑motivated, capable of working independently, and able to manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously.
Must be U.S. citizen and eligible for or have an active DoD Secret Security Clearance.
Industry certifications such as CompTIA Network+ or CompTIA A+ preferred.
Experience communicating with management to provide status updates, ensure compliance with NISPOM requirements, and advise on security‑related questions or concerns.
