Medical Assistant – Neurology Office (MS & Neuromuscular Focus) Location: Clearwater, FL Employment Type: Full-Time About MS & Neuromuscular Center of Excellence At the MS & Neuromuscular Center of Excellence, we are committed to providing expert, compassionate care for patients living with Multiple Sclerosis (MS) and neuromuscular disorders. Our specialty practice combines advanced diagnostics and treatments with a patient-centered approach. Position Overview We are seeking a motivated Medical Assistant to join our neurology team. The Medical Assistant will play a vital support role in both clinical operations and patient care. Key Responsibilities
Prepare exam rooms for neurology clinic visits and ensure rooms are stocked and sanitized Collect and record patient histories, vital signs, and medication lists Assist clinicians in the reconstitution of Botox and Xeomin for in-office procedures (no injections performed) Prepare and organize supplies, equipment, and specimens for clinic procedures Assist with the coordination and collection of samples for genetic testing Support clinicians and patients in the completion and submission of medication prior authorizations and facilitate peer-to-peer communications between providers and payers Accurately document all activities and communications in the EHR system Provide patient education for medications, testing, and procedures as directed by providers Maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA and office policies Perform other clinical and administrative tasks as delegated by the lead MA, management, or providers
Qualifications
Medical Assistant Certification (CMA or RMA) strongly preferred At least 1 year of experience in a medical office; neurology or specialty experience preferred Familiarity with EHR systems Excellent attention to detail, teamwork, and communication skills Organized and able to work effectively in a patient-focused environment Professional, compassionate, and reliable
