Engineering Supervisor- Functional Safety

PACCAR Electronics is seeking a motivated and experienced Supervisor for the Functional Safety Team. This position will be based in Lewisville, TX. PACCAR is a global technology leader in the design, manufacture and customer support of high-quality light-, medium- and heavy-duty trucks under the Kenworth, Peterbilt and DAF nameplates. PACCAR also designs and manufactures advanced powertrains, provides financial services and information technology, and distributes truck parts related to its principal business.

Job Summary

This position will manage a team of engineers responsible for Functional Safety, including requirements definition, risk assessment, and coordinating verification activities. The successful candidate will coordinate with the product development team to deliver high quality, secure, vehicles, while meeting program schedules, budgets and customer expectations.

Job Responsibilities

  • Supervise activities of team members, including tracking, reporting progress, and proactively mitigating risks against plans.
  • Collaborate effectively with a multi-disciplinary team of software development, electrical engineering, control system development, information technology and test teams.
  • Lead a high performing team to continuously improve the team's quality and efficiency.
  • Recruit, mentor and develop engineers to support career growth and a high-quality engineering culture.

Qualifications & Skills Required

  • Eight or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science or related field.
  • Ability to perform in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment, manage multiple simultaneous projects, and respond dynamically to shifting priorities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including communicating with executive leadership.
  • Ability to travel up to 10%, including internationally.
  • Preferred Experience applying ISO26262 and Functional Safety industry best practices.
  • Experience with design & release of automotive or commercial vehicle systems.
  • Experience solving complex technical problems using lean or six sigma methodologies.
  • Experience with agile development practices.
  • Prior supervisory or leadership experience.
  • Advanced degree or Professional Engineer license.

The salary range for this role is $ 114,500 - $179,100 annually. This position is also eligible for a holiday gift.
