Job Summary
R+L Carriers is seeking a highly organized and analytical Network Coordinator to support the execution and optimization of our transportation network. This role is responsible for coordinating intermodal operations, managing relationships with outside carriers, supporting network design initiatives, and ensuring alignment across terminal operations. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in maintaining service performance, cost efficiency, and operational visibility across the network.
Responsibilities
Plan and coordinate intermodal shipments to ensure service and cost objectives are met
Monitor transit performance and proactively address service disruptions
Manage day-to-day communication and execution with third-party carriers
Ensure capacity alignment with network demand and service requirements
Track carrier performance and support continuous improvement efforts
Support network optimization initiatives through data analysis and execution tracking
Collaborate with internal teams to implement routing, lane, and structural changes
Ensure network changes align with service commitments and operational capabilities
Coordinate truckload movements to support overflow, imbalances, and strategic initiatives
Optimize utilization while maintaining service standards
Assist in monitoring and managing equipment positioning and utilization across the network
Partner with operations to ensure proper allocation of trailers and resources
Validate and process carrier invoices to ensure accuracy and cost control
Develop and maintain reporting on network performance, costs, and service metrics
Provide actionable insights to leadership through data-driven analysis
Act as a liaison across R+L terminals to ensure alignment on freight flow and execution
Support daily operational communication to resolve network constraints and inefficiencies
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or related field preferred
2–5 years of experience in transportation, logistics, or network operations
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and drive decisions
Excellent communication and coordination skills across multiple stakeholders
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and transportation management systems (TMS)
Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
Preferred Experience
Experience with intermodal and truckload operations
Knowledge of LTL network structures and terminal operations
Familiarity with carrier management and contract execution
Experience in performance reporting and KPI tracking
