Perform patient care responsibilities considering needs specific to the standard of care for patient's age. Notify appropriate licensed personnel when patient complains of pain. Prepare patients for meals; serve and remove food trays and assist with meals or feed patients if necessary. Answer patient call lights, anticipate patient's needs and make rounds to assigned patients. Assist patients with the handling of personal property: dentures, glasses, contact lenses, hearing aids, prosthetic devices, etc. Perform all aspects of patient care in an environment that optimizes patient safety and reduces the likelihood of medical/health care errors. Transport patients to and from various departments in the hospital. Report and, when appropriate, record any changes observed in condition or behavior of patients and unusual incidents. Assist in the preparation of admissions, transfers and discharge of patients. Assist licensed nursing staff with treatment procedures. Provide general nursing care: position patients, lift and turn patients, utilize special equipment, assist patients with the bedpan, commode; assist ambulating patients. Obtain and record temperature, pulse, respirations, blood pressure, weight, intake and output. Make rounds with oncoming shift to ensure the unit is left in good condition. Consult other departments, as appropriate, to provide for an interdisciplinary approach to the patient's needs. Other duties as assigned
What we're looking for Applicants should have:
Completion of course for nursing assistants Current state certification as a Nursing Assistant CPR/BCLS Certification Minimum six months experience in an acute or long-term facility preferred. Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
