About
Role Description The Level 3 Network Engineer is a full‑time, on‑site role based in Mount Vernon, OH responsible for advanced design, implementation, and support of network infrastructure for a diverse client base. This role includes planning, configuring, and optimizing LAN, WAN, wireless, and security solutions, as well as leading complex network projects and upgrades. The Level 3 Network Engineer will perform advanced troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and resolution of escalated network incidents, while documenting configurations and maintaining network diagrams and standards. The role involves collaborating with Account Managers and other technical teams to assess customer requirements, propose solutions, and support deployments and migrations. The engineer will also monitor network performance, implement security best practices, and provide guidance and mentorship to junior technical staff.
Qualifications
Strong skills in Network Engineering and Network Design, including planning, implementing, and optimizing complex LAN/WAN and wireless infrastructures.
Hands‑on expertise in Network Administration, including configuration, monitoring, capacity planning, and maintenance of routers, switches, firewalls, and related devices.
Advanced Troubleshooting experience for escalated issues, including root cause analysis, performance tuning, and resolution of connectivity, latency, and reliability problems.
Practical knowledge of Network Security, including secure configurations, firewall policies, VPNs, access control, and adherence to security best practices.
Experience with major networking vendors (e.g., Cisco, HP/Aruba, Dell) and common network operating systems and tools.
Relevant certifications preferred (e.g., CCNP, CCNA with extensive experience, Network+ or equivalent); additional security certifications are a plus.
Strong documentation skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate clearly with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
Proven ability to work on‑site with customers, manage competing priorities, and collaborate effectively in a team‑oriented environment.
Prior experience in a managed services, MSP, or multi‑customer environment is highly beneficial.
4+ years of experience in Windows administration, networking, and desktop support.
Ability to plan, organize, and document complex system designs and configurations.
Strong communication skills for conveying technical information verbally and in writing.
Proficiency in troubleshooting, problem‑solving, and managing multiple tasks.
Experience in a self‑directed environment with strong accountability and communication skills.
Compensation will be based on experience.
Work Environment and Culture
Work in a growing, dynamic environment where you will be expected to be proactive and self‑motivated.
Perform duties both remotely and on‑site at client locations, typically with 5 to 100 users.
The role involves light to moderate physical activity, including lifting up to 50 pounds and occasional use of power tools or ladders.
Reliable transportation and a clean driving record are required. A company vehicle will be provided for out‑of‑town travel.
This is an on‑site position, and candidates must reside within 1 hour of our Operations Center in Mount Vernon, Ohio (43050). Relocation assistance is not available.
