POS - 5037 Emergent Technologies Inc. is seeking a highly experienced Network Engineer to support a large-scale government infrastructure program. This role focuses on Service Provider transport network engineering, including advanced design and integration of MPLS, BGP, and multi-vendor platforms. Key Responsibilities Design and implement Service Provider transport networks supporting a large enterprise infrastructure Lead network architecture design efforts for MPLS and BGP-based solutions Serve as a technical SME, guiding junior engineers and coordinating with cross-functional teams Translate customer requirements into scalable enterprise and Service Provider network solutions Design and negotiate IP peering agreements and ensure interoperability between different Service Providers Perform Tier 4-level support, including complex upgrades and routine maintenance Configure and manage routers and switches running IOS-XE, IOS-XR, and JUNOS Work across multi-vendor environments, primarily Cisco and Juniper Required Education & Experience Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a technical field (preferred) Minimum 11 years of relevant experience in network engineering Advanced understanding and hands‑on experience with: MPLS/BGP transport networks Routing protocols: OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, ISIS Core and edge Service Provider technologies Modern Service Provider architectures and interconnectivity
Ability to lead projects independently and support cross-domain integration Strong documentation and communication skills Must be a self‑starter capable of mentoring and leading a technical team Preferred Qualifications Previous experience in Service Provider environments or with Intelligence Community networks Familiarity with hybrid cloud networking (AWS, Azure, Google, Oracle) Hands‑on knowledge of network automation tools (Cisco NSO, Ansible, Python) Experience with test automation and Continuous Integration workflows Deep understanding of systems engineering and modern network design principles
