Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides direct nursing care to residents in a Long-Term Care setting under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) or physician. The LPN is responsible for administering medications, monitoring resident conditions, documenting care, and ensuring the highest level of patient safety and comfort. Key Responsibilities
Administer medications, treatments, and injections as prescribed by physicians. Monitor residents' health status and report any changes in condition to the RN or healthcare provider. Perform routine nursing procedures, including wound care, catheter care, and specimen collection. Assess and document vital signs, pain levels, and resident responses to treatment. Maintain accurate and timely patient records in accordance with facility policies. Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) as needed. Collaborate with physicians, RNs, CNAs, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement care plans. Educate residents and family members regarding treatments, medications, and health management. Ensure compliance with infection control standards, safety regulations, and facility policies. Respond appropriately to emergencies and changes in resident conditions.
