St. Vincent de Paul Georgia, Inc. (SVdP) envisions a more just and compassionate Georgia, where every neighbor lives with dignity and opportunity. Our mission is to serve our neighbors with love and respect: delivering help, hope and pathways to self-sufficiency. With a core focus on preventing homelessness, fighting hunger, and improving health, we are the oldest and largest statewide social service nonprofit. Our programs include rental and utility assistance, food recovery and distribution, and prescription fulfillment through an onsite pharmacy. POSITION SUMMARY
St. Vincent de Paul is seeking a self-starter who would like to kick start their career in a fun and dynamic work environment. Your excellent customer service skills, keen eye for detail and friendly, hard‑working demeanor will make you stand out. RESPONSIBILITIES
Receiving and sorting donated merchandise Assisting donors with unloading donated items Pricing merchandise in accordance with established procedures Operating the cash register and securing money and credit card receipts Providing a great experience for customers while donating, shopping, and checking‑out purchases Maintaining a clean and orderly store and processing environment QUALIFICATIONS
Enjoy detailed oriented work Are diligent and hard working Organized Can go above and beyond to meet the needs of customers Reliable and on-time Previous retail and cash handling experience is a plus Comfortable working in a non‑profit, mission focused Catholic based organization Experience working with volunteers is a plus Bilingual Spanish speaking a strong plus! WORK HOURS AND CONDITIONS
This is a part‑time position. The selected individual must be available Monday to Friday from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm and at least two Saturdays a month from 10:00 am to 7:00 pm. No Sundays. This is an active job; frequent walking, standing, bending, lifting and squatting will be a part of the daily routine. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds with or without an accommodation.
