About
Purpose of Position The Quality Technician supports the Quality Supervisor, Engineers, Manager and Director with a variety of support tasks. These include but are not limited to update and release of controlled documents, support of customer and third‑party audits, maintenance of the equipment calibration system, performing process audits and gathering parts for failure analysis.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Compiles weekly and monthly quality data into presentation format
Generates raw data reports from QMS and other databases for review
Assists with Auditor problem solving
Performs incoming inspection of purchased parts including part number, quantity and functional testing as required
Addresses and assists with quality issues by department and escalates as needed
Supports line stops – Quality Issues, Customer Impact
Supports completion of deviations as needed
Requests RMAs from Quanta and OEMs to return parts for credit or failure analysis
8D support
Performs First Article Inspections (FAIs)
Confirms functional and cosmetic failures
Coordinates sample product shipments to Quanta and customers for failure analysis and other projects
Reviews and revises work instructions as needed
Attends MRB meeting to provide detailed status updates
Supports and trains Quality Auditors
Reviews, develops and ensures alignment of customer specifications with Quanta generated work instructions
Contributes to meeting FPY rates and Quality Goals in each department
Assists Quality Engineers and Quality Manager with deviations, documentation control, corrective and preventive actions
Supports Process Audit Schedule
Other duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements
High School Diploma or GED
Basic computer experience; MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and e‑mail
Technical/Engineering background preferred
Experience within an ISO 9000 certified organization (engineering environment) preferred
Experience researching and writing technical documentation for end users preferred
Other Skills and Abilities
Ability to read, write and speak English fluently
Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proven ability to develop, write and edit procedural material
Proven ability to meet deadlines, set priorities
Effective organizational skills
Detail oriented. Approaches work in a meticulous and thorough manner
High level of ownership and accountability
Self‑starting and self‑motivated
Able to maintain confidentiality
Physical Demands
Ability to distinguish colors
Ability to lift up to 30 pounds
Able to squat to lift boxes weighing up to 40 pounds
Able to stand, stoop and bend
Ability to walk and stand on cement floors for long periods
Able to work in warehouse environment with no central heat or air
