Evaluate the Database Server Hardware Define/Recommend/Maintain Database Standards and Architecture Recommend Server H/W, Oracle Server Editions for a new Build Research and Recommend Patch management for database/instance and Impact Analysis. Initiate need and Impact Analysis for Database Migration/Upgrade Technical Consultation Vendor Support and Interaction Proficient in Oracle EE RAC database installation, upgrade, patching, maintenance, security, sysadmin functions and administration Monitor and optimize Oracle database performance and capacity planning Troubleshoot database issues, maintain database systems availability and scalability Create and maintain Oracle databases required for development, testing, Integration, QA and production usage Performs the capacity planning required to create and maintain the databases The DBA should work closely with Server, Backup and storage administrator to meet Backup, Hardware, Storage and Operating system requirements Perform ongoing analysis and tuning of the Oracle database Install new versions of the Oracle database and its features and any other tools that access the Oracle database Application code promotion and migrations of programs, database changes, reference data changes and menu changes through the development life cycle if applicable Hands on experience with Oracle Grid Control, PL/SQL, Exadata, Oracle RAC, Oracle Active Data Guard, Golden Gate Replication,OEM and other Oracle Products. Experience in Oracle Enterprise (OEM) 11g/12c/13c Experience and knowledge in migrating code, database changes, data and menus through the various stages of the development life cycle Performs database re-organizations as required to assist performance and ensure maximum uptime of the database Troubleshoots with problems regarding the databases, replication and database related Tools Good knowledge of physical database design and responsible for the physical database design Ability to perform database and operating system performance monitoring and the necessary adjustments Excellent skill in High availability, replication technologies and fail over Implement and enforce security requirements for Oracle databases Recommend and Review Backup and Recovery Strategies. Provides technical support to application development teams Having experience of DR Solution/Implementation/Execution through various sync methods. Designing strategy towards Capacity Management for DB tracks Designing Oracle Server Security (Server hardening,Auditing,compliance) Good knowledge of the windows and unix operating system(s) DB2/Oracle EBS,MYSQL knowledge is added advantange Soft Skills
Excellent communication and conversation skills (Verbal and Written) Good working knowledge of MS OFFICE (Including MS Project and Visio) Should have a great customer handling skills Able to handle unforeseen situations High level of acceptance Can drive HCL’s value and its methodology Other Skills / Experience
Worked on Production systems Experience with Database Migration, Installation, Upgrades and Patching Knowledge of Data warehousing and Other RDBMS Knowledge of Gateways for Other DBs Experience on Third Party backup tools Knowledge of NoSQL DB knowledge of Public and Private cloud Provider and their services Certification requirements
OCA and OCP A candidate’s pay within the range will depend on their skills, experience, education, and other factors permitted by law. This role may also be eligible for performance-based bonuses subject to HCL policies.
