*Group IT Support Technician*
This role requires a self-motivated individual with a passion for technology and a commitment to delivering exceptional service to our colleagues and clients.
*Key Responsibilities*
As a key team member of Group IT team, the role holder’s key duties will be:
* *User support and troubleshooting IT issues: *Provide support for hardware, software, and network issues. Assist users with IT-related problems, answering queries, and providing training where necessary. Update Service Desk software to reflect work carried out and to keep queues up to date.
* *Documentation: *Maintain accurate records of IT assets and Users. Provide accurate user work instructions and IT technical documentation for incidents, problems or projects completed.
* *System maintenance: *Perform and monitor updates, backups, and preventive maintenance on all IT systems.
* *Security: *Contribute to the implementation and monitoring of security measures to safeguard organisational data.
* *Project involvement: *Participate in IT projects, including system upgrades, migrations, and installations.
* *Vendor liaison: *Work with third-party vendors to ensure timely resolution of issues and successful implementation of new systems.
*Qualification and Training - Required*
* Minimum of 2 years of experience in IT support or similar role.
* Proficiency in Windows desktop and server operating systems.
*Qualification and Training - Desirable*
* Higher National Diploma in Information Technology, or a related field.
* CompTIA: A+, Network+ and Security+ certification
* Microsoft Certified: Windows Fundamentals (MTA)
*Skills and Competencies*
* Experience working within an IT service desk environment
* Demonstratable ability to manage objects within M365 tenant administration (Entra ID, Exchange Online and MS365 Admin centre) along with on-premises active directory management.
* Knowledge of networking protocols and hardware (Wired & Wireless).
* Experience with virtualization technologies (e.g. Hyper-V)
* Familiarity with cloud services (e.g., AWS, Azure).
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
*Working Hours *
37.5 hours worked over a 5-day week, Monday – Friday, due to the nature of the role we require the applicant to work on site in Melksham, with occasional travel to our site in Derbyshire.
Pay: £28,000.00-£32,000.00 per year
