About
Responsibilities of the Thermal Design Engineer
Conduct two-phase fluid flow and heat transfer research, and apply it to the development of new electronics cooling products
Evaluate customer challenges and requirements, and propose design solutions
Conduct theoretical analyses, design sizing, and CFD simulations; interpret and communicate results and recommend the best design approach
Assist with writing design proposals, marketing materials, and technical papers
Qualifications of the Thermal Design Engineer
M.S. or Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering or related fields, and graduate level work in two-phase flow and heat transfer theoretical, experimental, and computational methods
Strong foundation in other heat transfer modes like conduction, convection, and radiation
Hands-on work in a heat transfer research or test lab
A strong understanding of the fundamental physics of heat transfer, mass transfer, and fluid flow including two-phase flow and heat transfer
Familiarity with modeling and conducting CFD simulations, preferably including two-phase flow and heat transfer
