Are you interested in utilizing your systems engineering skills to support our community’s critical public services and infrastructure, including public safety, courts, city management and so much more? The City of Commerce City is seeking a dynamic IT Systems Engineer to serve as a trusted technology partner to our public safety and courts divisions.
In this pivotal role, you will lead the charge in managing, maintaining, and optimizing critical public safety systems and platforms supporting the wide array of technological tools needed to operate the city’s infrastructure. The IT Systems Engineer will primarily engage in systems engineering while also having the opportunity to grow your skillset with varying degrees of networking and cloud technology management, playing an integral part of the public safety systems team. You will also work closely with our team of IT professionals on complex projects, daily operations and incident response playing a key role in enhancing operational efficiency and supporting our mission to keep the community safe.

Responsibilities
The IT Systems Engineer - Public Safety is responsible for the overall technical support, configuration, maintenance, and administration of assigned applications and platforms for the Commerce City Police Department and Courts divisions.
This role provides primary and subject matter expertise on assigned applications for the Police Department and Courts and will be the trusted IT partner, identifying technology needs, gathering business and technical requirements, evaluating current and future technologies, and managing technical projects.
Salary and Benefits Hiring salary is dependent upon experience.
The hiring range is $104,554.45 - $116,171.61

Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in computer information systems, technology management or related field and five years of progressively responsible experience are required. Must complete and pass a CJIS background investigation prior to employment, and obtain CJIS certification within 30 days of starting employment. Any equivalent combination of education, training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities may be considered.
