Location: Salina, KS. On-site position. Works Monday through Thursday, 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM. Occasional out-of-state travel required.
Primary Duties And Responsibilities
Design new skid‑steer and excavator attachments and OEM products from concept through production.
Manage all aspects of design projects including concept development, prototyping, testing, validation, and design‑for‑manufacturability.
Collaborate with manufacturing to ensure correct fabrication, welding, assembly, and functional performance.
Present design concepts, features, opportunities and challenges to the Land Pride management team.
Utilize analysis software, evaluate field testing and recommend design modifications to optimize product designs.
Create detailed drawings, bill of materials, test plans, etc.
Identify and recommend improvements to production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product to engineering team lead.
Preferred Skills And Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree (BS) in Mechanical Engineering, Agricultural or BioSystems Machinery Engineering, or related engineering discipline from a four‑year college or university.
5+ years of hands‑on design engineering experience, preferably in construction equipment, heavy machinery, agricultural equipment, or related industries.
Solid understanding of manufacturing processes (fabrication, welding, assembly) and design‑for‑manufacturability.
Proficient in CAD (Creo, CATIA, or similar), PLM tools (Windchill), and FEA software; strong skills in Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to present technical information clearly to cross‑functional teams.
Strong mechanical aptitude with experience troubleshooting and resolving field and shop issues safely.
Willing and able to travel out of state for multiple days during development and testing phases.
