Overview GitHub is growing its Customer Engineering team and we're seeking experienced professionals to elevate our technical customer engagement efforts. As a Senior Solutions Engineer, you will serve as a trusted advisor to GitHub customers across the SAARC region, helping them understand and maximize the value of the GitHub platform to achieve their business objectives through deep technical expertise. Leveraging your strong technical background and understanding of cloud technologies, modern development practices, and agentic software engineering workflows, you will guide customers across the entire SDLC, enabling them to modernize their software development processes and improve engineering efficiency.
The ideal candidate will act as a strategic partner to the Account team, including Account Executives and Customer Success teams, owning technical evaluations such as POCs, workshops, demos, and design reviews to help shape customer architecture, foster strong customer relationships, and drive long-term success.
Your focus will be on accelerating platform adoption, driving AI-powered and agentic software engineering workflows, ensuring customers realize business value, and supporting them in building scalable, secure, and modern development practices.
Responsibilities
Engage in pre-sales activities with large Enterprise customers to align and influence business partners and customer stakeholders, aiming for a technical win and driving solution selection.
Develop and maintain external relationships within the customer organization to support strategic alignment and solution adoption.
Lead technical discovery, demos, and validation to demonstrate how GitHub’s AI-powered platform addresses customers’ technical and business needs across the full software development lifecycle, including GitHub Enterprise, GitHub Advanced Security (GHAS), GitHub Copilot, and agentic software engineering workflows.
Work closely with customers to understand their existing processes, development workflows, and technical challenges, acting as a trusted advisor to identify gaps and opportunities where GitHub solutions can drive meaningful business outcomes.
Deliver tailored product demos, workshops, architecture reviews, and proofs of concept aligned to customer use cases, validating technical fit, solving complex challenges, and helping customers modernize their SDLC.
Partner with Account Executives (AE’s), Sales Leaders, Customer Success teams, and other key stakeholders across the SAARC region to drive customer acquisition, expansion, and long-term success.
Build deep expertise across the GitHub platform, including GitHub Enterprise (GHE), GitHub Advanced Security (GHAS), GitHub Copilot, and agentic software engineering workflows, supporting the full software development lifecycle.
Understand and articulate GitHub Copilot capabilities and GitHub’s approach to AI-driven software development.
Understand and articulate GitHub Advanced Security capabilities and GitHub’s approach to application security, acting as a trusted advisor in security program development.
Assist in building and delivering content for marketing events, acting as a liaison to enhance customer engagement and showcase GitHub's value proposition.
Synthesize and communicate business and industry insights to identify growth opportunities and align product features with customer digital transformation initiatives.
Design and develop innovative solutions that leverage GitHub's platform capabilities to address complex customer challenges, ensuring alignment with their strategic goals.
Collaborate with sales and account management teams and partners to develop strategic account plans that drive long-term customer success and growth.
Qualifications Required Qualifications:
8+ years' experience in technical consulting, technical consultative selling, or related technical/sales/industry experience
OR bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field AND 4+ years’ experience in technical consulting, technical consultative selling, or related technical/sales/industry experience.
OR master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field AND 2+ years’ experience in technical consulting, technical consultative selling, or related technical/sales/industry experience.
OR doctorate in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.
OR equivalent experience.
Ability to travel up to 40% throughout SAARC and the wider APAC region to meet with customers, with occasional travel beyond this (e.g., USA) for company events.
Preferred Qualifications:
8+ years of experience in technical consulting, technical consultative selling, or related technical, sales, or industry roles.
3+ years of software development experience focused on digital transformation and software modernization, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into actionable strategies that drive measurable customer outcomes.
5+ years of experience in business consulting and customer-facing engagements, including orchestrating technical, support, and partner teams to deliver successful customer solutions.
2+ years of hands‑on software engineering experience building and shipping production‑ready enterprise and customer‑facing applications, with strong knowledge of SDLC, DevSecOps, CI/CD, application security, platform engineering, GitHub/DevOps platforms, and AI‑powered developer workflows.
Proven ability to build trusted customer relationships, translate complex technical concepts into clear, actionable strategies, and identify and resolve blockers to solution implementation to drive successful technology deployments and high customer satisfaction.
Experience in identifying and resolving blockers to solution implementation, with a focus on enhancing customer satisfaction and driving successful technology deployments.
