About
Responsibilities
Review customer requirements including specifications, statement of work, and interface drawings to ensure contract compliance.
Attend job kick‑off meetings and participate in design reviews with customers.
Prepare and update task lists and schedules, and plan schedules and budgets for assigned programs.
Design AC & DC electrical systems from customer specifications.
Develop system layouts, sub‑assembly configurations, and packaging criteria.
Provide design input to mechanical engineers and the CAD design team.
Review and approve drawings.
Support prototype production and electrical system build.
Interface with other departments to resolve technical issues.
Create technical proposals, procurement specifications, and electrical analyses.
Support the sales department in proposal development and engineering estimates.
Review vendor/shop drawings, quotes, and proposals.
Create electrical lead times and cost schedule impact logs.
Submit engineering change proposals, requests for waivers, etc.
Interface with customers, program management, and contracts to resolve issues.
Contribute to product improvement, new product development, and product standardization.
Perform failure analysis and propose robust solutions.
Provide risk assessment and mitigation for electrical design engineering tasks.
Support company and customer test development and validation.
Support electromagnetic shielding and filtering.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Ability to maintain sensitive and confidential information per government standards.
Strong communication skills with peers, supervisors, and the public.
Adherence to workplace rules and policies.
Ability to obtain and maintain security clearance.
Thorough knowledge of circuit simulation programs.
Understanding of the relationship between hardware and software for company products.
Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
Minimum of 2+ years of professional engineering experience.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
Ability to stand and sit for long periods.
Perform repetitive motions such as keyboarding and phone use.
Lift up to 10 pounds.
Travel up to 10% of the time.
