Job Summary Responsible for the designing, installing, monitoring, maintaining, and performance tuning of production databases while ensuring high levels of data availability. Responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing database policies and procedures, to ensure the integrity and availability of databases and their accompanying software. Supervise and manage the projects assigned to subordinate staff. Analyze and resolve or recommend solutions to complex or unusual customer service problems and issues. Supervise and implement end‑user training for authorized software. When an altering event takes place, responsible for documenting what has taken place and sharing the documentation with appropriate reporting lines to maintain compliance standards.
Requirements Qualifications Required Skills And Knowledge
High school diploma or GED certificate
2 year college degree with an emphasis on computer science
5 years of working technical experience with designing, building, installing, configuring, securing, scaling, and supporting database servers in a live environment
2 years of supervisory experience
3 years of working in a production environment with thorough knowledge of change management processes
Extensive background with Microsoft SQL with a minimum of 3 years of experience
Strong understanding of database structures, theories, principles, and practices
Hands‑on database tuning and troubleshooting experience
Experience with data processing flowcharting techniques
Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong technical documentation skills
Administrative abilities, including record keeping
Pass NRWC pre‑employment testing
Ability to work all shifts including weekends and holidays
Experience administering in the cloud.
Ability to obtain a Class III Gaming License
Preferred Skills And Knowledge
10 years of working technical experience with designing, building installing configuring, and supporting database servers
CompTIA Certification such as Project+, Security+, Network+
Knowledge of Class III Gaming and regulatory environment
Certified as a Microsoft Database Administrator.
Microsoft Azure Certifications such as AZ‑900, AZ‑305, DP‑900, DP‑203.
ITIL v4 Foundation Certification.
Physical Requirements
Ability to bend, reach, push, pull, squat and lift up to 40 pounds
Ability to sit for assigned shift
Manual and finger dexterity for operation of personal computer and routine paperwork
Ability to tolerate a noisy, smoke‑filled environment
Essential Functions Of The Job
Knowledge of departmental Guest Service Standards
Knowledge of casino promotions
Supervise the operations and Team Members of the IT Data Management Team
Schedule IT projects through supervisory management
Ensure the integrity of Casino databases
Create models for new database development and/or change to existing ones
Install and configure relevant network components to ensure database access as well as database consistency and integrity
Respond to and resolve database access and performance issues
Monitor database system details within the database, including stored procedures and execution time, and implement efficiency improvements
Design and implement redundant systems, policies, and procedures for disaster recovery and data archiving to ensure effective protection and integrity of data assets
Monitor, optimize and allocate physical data storage for database systems
Plan and coordinate data migrations between systems
Develop, implement, and maintain change control and testing processes for modifications to databases
Create, or support creation of, required reports in response to business user needs
Conduct research and makes recommendations on database products, services, protocols, and standards in support of procurement and development efforts
Perform database transaction and security audits
Perform other duties as assigned
